Multinational Air-to-Air Combat Training in April
Finnish Air Force F/A-18 Hornet Multi-Role fighters will conduct air-to-air combat training missions with Swedish Air Force Gripens in Swedish and international air space over the Baltic Sea and possibly in Finland from 10 to 12 April. Also Italian Air Force Eurofighter aircraft deployed to Estonia may take part in the training.
The training missions are conducted by two to four Finnish Air Force F/A-18s, Swedish Air Force Gripens and two to four Italian Air Force Eurofighter aircraft. The training missions take place over the Baltic Sea in international and Swedish air space and possibly over Finland with participating aircraft operating from their home bases. During the training missions, Finnish F/A-18s visit Visby Air Base in Gotland, Sweden.
Finnish Air Force has conducted air-to-air combat training with other air forces operating in the Baltic Sea region since 2015. Previously training has been conducted with Swedish, French and German air forces and the United States Air Forces in Europe.
