Finnish Air Force to host winter tests of Typhoon fighter jets in Finland
The Air Force Academy will support the Royal Air Force’s winter testing and test flight activity of Typhoon fighter jets from January to March 2025.
Three Typhoon fighter jets will arrive in Finland in January during week 4. The Royal Air Force (RAF) will conduct the winter testing and test flight activities at Tikkakoski Air Base in Jyväskylä and Halli Air Base in Jämsä until mid-March.
The Finnish Air Force will enable the RAF’s “Snowrider Winter Trial” event to be carried out in Finnish winter conditions by providing base services as host nation support. In addition to the Typhoon fighter jets, the RAF will bring its own maintenance and security personnel as well as maintenance equipment for winter testing. In total, approximately 100 military and civilian personnel from the United Kingdom will participate in the testing event.
