Supporting air operations, research and development

The air wing supports air force combat capability by executing various supporting air missions, undertaking research and development, and maintaining continued availability of air bases across southern Finland for air operations.

Satakunta Air Wing also conducts a wide range of air movement and other supporting missions in support of the entire Defence Forces, crisis management operations, the nation's high leadership, and other authorities.
