Four Finnish F/A-18 Hornet multi-role fighters will train together with NATO Baltic Air Policing detachments and visit Ämari Air Base in Estonia on 29 March 2023.

The training missions will be flown in the Baltic states’ airspace on 29 March 2023. In addition to Finnish fighters, the missions will involve aircraft from Germany, the United Kingdom, Estonia, France, the United States and the Netherlands. In total, approximately 20 aircraft will be involved.

As a part of the training event, the Finnish F/A-18 Hornets will visit Ämari Air Base in Estonia for the first time after the break caused by COVID-19 restrictions. The previous visit took place in 2019.

The Finnish Air Force regularly conducts training missions with the NATO Baltic Air Policing detachments in the Baltic Sea region. The missions provide Finnish personnel with first-hand experience in international cooperation and the planning of multinational air operations.
