18.5.2026 | The northern part of the Ramstein Flag 26 live-fly exercise will take place in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark from 8 to 19 June 2026.

The Midnight Hawks is the official aerobatic team of the Finnish Air Force. The team with its four Hawk jet trainers has proudly presented the consummate flying skills of Finnish military pilots in air shows in Finland and abroad since 1997. All Midnight Hawks pilots are qualified air combat and Hawk flight instructors at the Air Force Academy, rehearsing aerobatics on top of their teaching responsibilities.

11.9.2025 | The Finnish Air Force will conduct the Protective Fence 25 exercise from 22 to 26 September 2025. The exercise will involve a total of around 50 aircraft and 1,200 personnel.

9.6.2025 | The Finnish Air Force will host the multinational Atlantic Trident 25 exercise and the deployment of NATO RQ-4D Phoenix remotely piloted aircraft to Finland in summer 2025.

2.6.2025 | The Finnish Defence Forces' Flag Day on 4 June in Kuopio features events from morning until evening. The flight activities included in the programme will cause noise, especially in the city centre and harbour area of Kuopio.

The Finnish Air Force is one of the oldest aerial warfare service branches in the world to operate without interruption since its establishment in 1918.

24.4.2024 | Satakunta Air Wing will host the British Army’s AH-64E Apache attack helicopters between 25 April and 19 May 2024. The helicopters will participate in the Arrow 24 exercise led by the Armoured Brigade.

7.2.2025 | In January, the Air Combat Centre organised a training event at Satakunta Air Wing, where five U.S. F-35 pilots arrived to inform Finnish Defence Forces (FDF) personnel about the F-35’s capabilities and operating the fighter jet.

7.4.2025 | The Commander of the Finnish Air Force visited Lockheed Martin's F-35 production line in Fort Worth and the Ebbing Air National Guard Base in Fort Smith at the end of March. Finland's first F-35 fighter jets are currently in production, and preparations are underway at the training bases for the arrival of Finnish personnel.

21.9.2021 | The Finnish Air Force will conduct the Ruska 21 air operations exercise on 4‒9 October 2021. Fifty aircraft and around 3,300 personnel will take part in the service’s main exercise at different locations across Finland. The Swedish Air Force will also participate in Ruska 21.

18.5.2026 | Ramstein Flag 26 -lentotoimintaharjoituksen pohjoinen osuus järjestetään Suomessa, Ruotsissa, Norjassa ja Tanskassa 8.‒19.6.2026.

Satakunnan lennosto järjestää yhteistyössä Tredun kanssa Sotilasilmailusta ammatti- tapahtuman tiistaina 12.5.2026.

8.5.2026 | Ilmavoimat on vuoden 2026 alussa käynnistänyt suojaamiseen erikoistuneiden valmiusyksiköiden perustamisen osana valmiuden kehittämistä.

6.3.2026 | Ilmavoimien vuosipäivää juhlistetaan seppeleenlaskutilaisuuksilla ja henkilöstötilaisuuksilla. Päivään liittyy myös ylilentoja.
