Internationellt samarbete är en daglig beståndsdel i flygvapnets verksamhet. Målsättningen med samarbetet är att dela information och kompetens med centrala aktörer i de områden där flygvapnet verkar samt att skapa förutsättningar för att kostnadseffektivt kunna öva försvarsgrenens viktigaste uppgifter.

International co-operation is a part of the daily activities of the Air Force. The objective of co-operation is to share information and expertise with the key actors in the Air Force’s operating environment and to create opportunities for cost-effective training in the service’s main tasks.

12.1.2026 | The Defence Forces’ second SAR satellite was launched into space January 11, 2026.

30.3.2026 | The introduction into service of the F-35 capability progresses, and the first multirole fighters will be flown to Finland this autumn. 13.8.2025 | Finland and Norway began educational cooperation in autumn 2023 when the first Norwegian student pilots arrived at the Air Force Academy for training.

11.9.2025 | The Finnish Air Force will conduct the Protective Fence 25 exercise from 22 to 26 September 2025. The exercise will involve a total of around 50 aircraft and 1,200 personnel.

The Midnight Hawks is the official aerobatic team of the Finnish Air Force. The team with its four Hawk jet trainers has proudly presented the consummate flying skills of Finnish military pilots in air shows in Finland and abroad since 1997. All Midnight Hawks pilots are qualified air combat and Hawk flight instructors at the Air Force Academy, rehearsing aerobatics on top of their teaching responsibilities.

2.6.2025 | The Finnish Defence Forces' Flag Day on 4 June in Kuopio features events from morning until evening. The flight activities included in the programme will cause noise, especially in the city centre and harbour area of Kuopio.

16.12.2025 | Finland’s first F-35A multirole fighter, designated JF-501, was presented to the public at a rollout ceremony at Lockheed Martin’s production facility in Fort Worth on 16 December.

20.1.2026 | The ferry flight of JF-501 from Lockheed Martin, Texas, to the training base in Arkansas begins Finnish Air Force’s F-35 fighter deliveries.

14.10.2025 | The Finnish Air Force and the Royal Canadian Air Force conduct training missions in Finnish airspace in October 2025.

13.10.2025 | Finland deploys F/A-18 Hornet fighter jets to the Steadfast Noon 25 exercise at Skrydstrup Air Base in Denmark from 13 to 24 October 2025.

11.8.2025 | The Finnish Air Force's F/A-18 Hornet pilots will fly training missions with the United States Air Force’s KC-135 Stratotanker aerial refueling aircraft between 11 and 15 August 2025.

24.7.2025 | Since autumn 2023, three Norwegian student pilots have been studying at the Air Force Academy, concluding their Hawk training phase in May. Next, they will proceed to F‑35 training in the United States.

21.5.2025 | The Nordic Air Forces conducted Nordic Combat Enhanced Training over the Baltic Sea in order to strengthen NATO´s collective defense and deterrence. Fighter jets from Finland, Sweden and Denmark attacked an enemy presence on Swedish territory.
