Internationellt samarbete är en daglig beståndsdel i flygvapnets verksamhet. Målsättningen med samarbetet är att dela information och kompetens med centrala aktörer i de områden där flygvapnet verkar samt att skapa förutsättningar för att kostnadseffektivt kunna öva försvarsgrenens viktigaste uppgifter.

The Air Forces of Finland, Norway and Sweden will host multinational Arctic Challenge Exercise 2023 from 29 May to 9 June 2023. More than one 150 aircraft from 14 nations will participate in the air exercise carried out in the airspace over the northern areas of the host countries.

International co-operation is a part of the daily activities of the Air Force. The objective of co-operation is to share information and expertise with the key actors in the Air Force’s operating environment and to create opportunities for cost-effective training in the service’s main tasks.

30.4.2025 | Finland will take part in the Swedish Air Force’s base operations exercise in Uppsala at the beginning of May. The exercise will involve also Finnish reservists.

The Midnight Hawks is the official aerobatic team of the Finnish Air Force. The team with its four Hawk jet trainers has proudly presented the consummate flying skills of Finnish military pilots in air shows in Finland and abroad since 1997. All Midnight Hawks pilots are qualified air combat and Hawk flight instructors at the Air Force Academy, rehearsing aerobatics on top of their teaching responsibilities.

11.9.2025 | The Finnish Air Force will conduct the Protective Fence 25 exercise from 22 to 26 September 2025. The exercise will involve a total of around 50 aircraft and 1,200 personnel.

16.12.2025 | Finland’s first F-35A multirole fighter, designated JF-501, was presented to the public at a rollout ceremony at Lockheed Martin’s production facility in Fort Worth on 16 December.

21.5.2025 | The Nordic Air Forces conducted Nordic Combat Enhanced Training over the Baltic Sea in order to strengthen NATO´s collective defense and deterrence. Fighter jets from Finland, Sweden and Denmark attacked an enemy presence on Swedish territory.

3.3.2025 | In the middle of the January, the Nordic Division was established at the Norwegian Joint Air Operation Centre (JAOC) in Bodø.

18.10.2021 | The Finnish Air Force will deploy F/A-18 Hornet multi-role fighters and Hawk jet trainers to the Swedish Air Force's Luftförsvarsövning 21 (LFÖ 21) exercise on 21–27 October 2021.
